The ocean is part of our story.
From our jewelry designed to be worn in the water to our collections inspired by island life, MIAVAI was created with a deep connection to the Polynesian lifestyle. But the coral reefs that make our oceans so extraordinary are fragile ecosystems that need our protection.
That is why MIAVAI has chosen to support Coral Gardeners, a movement born in French Polynesia dedicated to restoring coral reefs through coral farming, transplantation, science and innovation.

OUR CORAL ADOPTION
Through the Coral Gardeners Adoption Program, MIAVAI is adopting corals to directly support their reef restoration efforts.
Each adopted coral contributes to the work of Coral Gardeners' teams: resilient coral fragments are grown in underwater nurseries, monitored as they develop and, once mature, transplanted onto degraded reefs where they can help rebuild the ecosystem.
And the journey doesn't end with the adoption.
Each coral can be followed through Track My Coral, with its own photograph and GPS location, creating a real and traceable connection between the adoption and the restoration work taking place beneath the surface.
As much as 50% have been lost in the past 30 years (UNEP) and the decline could reach up to 90% by 2050 according to the most recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Assessment Report.
